Remember Me

Remember Me is a automated telephone service that American Airlines is implementing to promote better customer service. They say this was not meant to deplete jobs. In other words they feel a computer can interact with a potential customer and treat them better than a real person.

Sure the computers can automatically detect that this person as called before and even notably acknowledge routine. How many people actually enjoy talking to computers. A voice recognition system will be set up but, will that be full proof. How many of us have gotten frustrated with these systems.

Yes this may cut down on the number of calls an actual person would have to take. It may also cut down on the number of individuals they need. All of this was done to save money for the airline. Will this also cut employees time partially or completely out.

The American Airlines out of Fort Worth insist this is a speeder process don't beleive me read it yourself http://www.startribune.com/science/39164372.html. Ever thought a computer could do your job.

  1. I HATE talking to computers. I always just press 0 or # to go directly to a real human being.

I know everyone is trying to save money during the recession, but I think this idea will do more harm than good.
